So only a few more hours left in 2015, and I’ve been going through some of my posts from the last year. Some of what I’ve been reading is confusing and/or over the top (boy, I do make a lot of lists and use a lot of exclamation points), some of it is better off forgotten (ouch!), and some of it is fun to read again. Here are a few of my favorites from the past year:
- My ode to the European Waltz (skating angst in 3/4 time)
- My version of a Mary Oliver poem: The Skating Day
- Ben Agosto manqué
- Wishing I had Barbie hips
- A song for when I’m feeling particularly sore
- And finally, Noo-Noo the vacuum cleaner.
I’m welcoming in 2016 with a lot of hope. My left side is much stronger now, thanks to all those exercises on and off the ice. Some things remain challenging, but alignment is no longer a mystery. I’ve got the best support team (coaches, family, PT Sarah, friends) I could ask for. And my list of things to work on just keeps growing and growing.
What a fun year it’s been! And I can’t wait to get back to the rink in 2016. I know that whatever the new year holds, there will be lots of exclamation points involved. Plus quite a multifarious (and hopefully not nefarious) soundtrack.
Happy New Year to all!
