Skating in the key of life

Behind the Zamboni doors

Reporting back from U.S. Nationals today! Okay, this is really behind the scenes: not what you normally would see, but we are not supposed to take pictures of the actual competition.

So you thought skating was just about bejeweled skating outfits and graceful movement! But the true excitement is when the Zamboni doors open and the eager crew runs out to fill all those little (and not so little) holes in the ice, zig-zagging around the rink so that the Zamboni doesn’t hit them. Skills!

A new Olympic event? I’m there!

Don't see me on the ice? I may be in the classroom or at the theater, or hanging out with my family and friends.
